15.08.14 - Trainee Production Engineer

The key duties of the post are as follows:

  • Assist in the preparation of job travellers
  • Support in raising appropriate purchase orders
  • Assist in organising ancillary processes with various suppliers
  • Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • To assist in the maintenance of delivery targets and the improvement of gross margins
  • To work according to quality assurance procedures as promulgated by the Company
  • To assist in other related duties to meet the needs of the designated group
  • Establishing strong working relations with other departments

Skills/Attributes required:

  • Knowledge of the fastener industry would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent numerical and literacy skills

 

Salary:   £15,000

 

Hours:

8.30am to 5.30pm – Monday to Friday (42.5 hrs per week)

The key duties of the post are as follows:

  • Working knowledge of CNC fanuc controls
  • Turning centre lathes
  • Able to read engineering drawings

The key duties of the post are as follows:

  • Raise internal, supplier and customer non-conformance reports
  • Raise internal inspection reports, dimensional, hardness, PMI etc.
  • Support 3rd party inspection process
  • Support internal inspection processes as and when required
  • Assist with correction and corrective actions

Skills/Attributes required:

Problem solving techniques eg 8D, 5 why

Use of measuring equipment eg micrometer, vernier, shadowgraph,  hardness tester

Computer literate eg. word, excel, ERP systems

Good communicator

Engineering background, preferably fasteners or machined parts

Salary:

£20k – £23k

Hours:

8.00am to 4.30pm – Monday to Friday (40 hours)

13.08.14 - Special Fasteners Estimator

 

The key duties of the post are as follows:

 

  • To work closely with the sales department in a technical manor.
  • Liaising with a very busy sales team and answering urgent queries.
  • Liaising with suppliers for prices.
  • Working accurately with dimensions from technical drawings.
  • Reading specifications and working out relevant information.
  • Liaising with the production team to establish the best methods to manufacture

 

Skills/Attributes required:

 

Attainments:

 

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a C grade pass in Maths and English.

 

Experience:

 

A minimum of 3 years recent admin experience

 

Industry knowledge desirable

 

Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages

 

Engineering/Production experience essential

 

Knowledge of turned parts and fasteners or a similar product would be advantageous

 

Knowledge of carbon, stainless and nickel alloys to include hot working, heat treatment and mechanical testing
